Kid’s Music

The music below was improvised, composed, and performed by Jack’s students. Students from the Berkeley Studio were piano students and the recording is from a piano “recital.” Beck’s song is an original composition. Creative Kids was a innovative music curriculum that met once a week on Saturdays for an hour and a half in Seattle. Recordings are from our year end “jam,” which featured four professional musicians and the kids. We all jammed and learned from each other for two hours and then had a party. UpBeat was a musical program in Newport, NH for low income and underserved children. Recordings were made during the pandemic, recorded at home on their phones and put together by Jack. Recordings include musicians from St Andrew’s Episcopal Church in New London and other local musicians. Shine of Swords was a composition that Hendricks made after his second piano lesson. We improvised the arrangement together and recorded on my phone.
